No words are needed for those who identify with it.

The robber of rest betrays me, and the worms crawl across the knees, causing a jerking reaction. Dreams evade me; the clock moves ever slowly forward, yet no sleep satisfaction. How many days has the precious rest slithered away into the coming dawn? Robbing the mind of clarity even when the body presses on Dreading the hours until darkness overtakes the peacefulness of light Knowing the sleep demons wait patiently for the body to rest in the coming night Until no more, the mind can resist and finally sinks into the depths of a dreamless abyss Peaceful at last until the stealer of rest betrays the body with a cruel and restless kiss.

Yes Deb. I called my poem "No rest for the wickedly mind". Sleep deamons as you call them is my wickedly mind. When it is done with me I fall to sleep. Nice work!

Deb, you write it so wonderful if it wasn’t so painful. I hate you go through it. We sure have our burden with sleep though mine don’t compare. Love you.

Wonderful mission statement on restless leg, better still amazing poetry, to point out this cruel unrelenting symptom. I can relate to this, as can my wife, who has it far worst than myself.
