River and Stone

Life is a river and I am a stone, Doomed to wander where the water roams. Sometimes through rapids and sometimes in calm, The streambed may dry and leave me alone. Life is a river and I am a stone, Fate may take me to shores I have never known. Swept away in a storm to never return, Dried out and abandoned, a relic of stone. Life is a river and I am a stone, The same water that tossed me now shapes me a home. A new body it gives me, one I call my own, Life is the river and I am the stone.
