Notes About The Poem

Image result for pictures of sunrising with moon and mars in the western skyThis is similar to the way the moon was on Monday in the western sky while the sun was rising. This is not a true Tanka. I don't have the correct syllable count so don't use it as an example.

rising sun

The rising sun upon the horizon cast flamingo onto cobalt clouds. in the western sky hung a full silvery moon and mars shouting to me out loud

Sara, Many thanks for your recent visit regarding Aside From Son. You have composed an epic haiku that is concise, creative, colourful and inspiring. Vivid contrasts in hues a particular highlight. Superb Howard

Though it may not be a proper tanka, this is certainly a beautiful poem. Dear Sara, you have painted a gorgeous night sky imagery!

I E, I am glad you enjoyed the moon the other night/day. The reason I looked was because it was supposed to rise on the eastern horizon around 5:30 and mars was supposed to be there also, so I looked but it was too cloudy. The next morning, I went to let the dog out very early in the morn and it was such a beautiful sunrise that I thought I wonder if the moon is still up, and I looked out the window toward the west and there it was. Thanks for the visit. Sara K
