Rising of the Son

Do we deserve the gift of love
Given with tears of angels spilled above
Nailed to a cross body cold and bare
Thieves hanging beside Him there
Mocking words your King behold
The earth beneath Him turning blood red
He gave love and compassion asked for our trust
Bitterness returned to quench His thirst
Head hung in prayer for those causing His pain
A crown of thorns on His brow was lain
Sweet words of forgiveness whispered even then
As darkness fell He took our sin
For three long days the tomb was sealed
Then He arose and to all His promise revealed
Among sun rays of gold a new life begun
Eternal life, in the rising of the Son

I wrote it to go with a picture of christ with the crown of thorns I drew, another thing I do to get through depressing days sometimes. But most days are good!
