Note the music is (C) Soundful . I am singing ( I am not a professional singer, I do however come from a family of professional musicians. ) This was my first pass at recording Riptide. I have not liked subsequent recordings better (YET). That will come.

I wrote Riptide for my fiance as we were getting back together, after 12 years apart and 44 years of knowing each other. Every time we are together it's the same. Intense, passionate, our own little world. The only thing that has changed with age is its no topic barred. We know it all now. Wisdom has dropped all pretense. And that has made the union even more intense and more sweet.

Our love is like a riptide wild ride, I am drowning in you. Riptide, pool slide, can't fight it, suck you right back in Can't swim to the side. Susan, Loved the song. A few years back, I put several of the PS poet’s lyrics to music and posted them. The recordings were poor but they loved it. I would like to work with you on a lyric if you are interested. What did you use to to generate the backing track to your song? I use to play lead guitar in a band in the past and would use Chord Pulse to create the tracks for lyrics, then fill with a lead. It works well…let me know.

Hey Mark, you have email. :D I would love to collaborate. I dropped you offsite details to connect and info on the music creation. I used to play guitar, tumpet and drums. Its been a very long time.

I love this! I sang one (deleted words) but was a bit embarrassed about myself. So tempted to get right on it and record my song from this morning now! I love that you've done this - cheered this place right up! Good luck with it all x

Thanks! I really wanted a perfect recording but have not managed one yet. I decided to read a different poem with a puppet voice I used to perform Listen to "Help to read your poems more clearly" ( I can do many voices, its a gift). I may try to turn a few more poems into songs or just write more songs. The muse needs to hit me.

Yes, that is me singing. I have not had any vocal training past the junior high age though I was in a chorus of a musical in highschool. I do have perfect pitch. I can read music as long ago I played trumpet, drums and guitar. I am a contralto and my normal singing voice is much like that of Karen Carpenter or Dido.

Technically we have never been a couple. 12 years ago we were together for 1 night. I resisted. 40 years ago we were together for 1 night, he resisted. For 4 years before that we flirted constantly at work. Look up the term Twin Flames. I am pretty sure it fits. Unconditional surrender for both of us is what it took.
