Ripe As Rain

POEM "RIPE AS RAIN" by martin gedge Late September, windy day the sky fluorescent red the autumn leaves move through the breeze and hover round my head like butterflies that mesmerize and dance a different beat a country ride by fireside for those who trick or treat the pumpkin field with crops they yield against the harvest night October blooms in colored rooms when rain is rich and ripe you feel the chills through window sills as fresh as coffee brew the first of light that gathers right when kids go off to school this season fall as got us all the feel fits like a glove among the ranks and giving thanks we bond and share our love an apple grove a bakery loaf a scent to fill the air a frequent wish to catch a fish before the hungry bear I have to say that with each day as nature paints its face like ages grow and rivers flow your heart will find it's place... by martin gedge ©
