Rip Van Winkle

Wake me from my slumber
As it’s been too many years
My hair has grown so long
I even have a beard

I slept there as a boy
But awakened as a man
Not learning all I needed
To be the best I can

So now I must endure
Many learning days ahead
I’ll be careful not to let myself
Fall asleep when not in bed.

Thanks for bring back a wonderful story from my childhood. After reading your poem, it would be fun to find the story and read it again. I enjoyed the chance to smile with your thoughts. Keep on writing! Karen
