Growing up Half strict Half free My mom Your dad One day December 26 You were taken from us My little brother Not blood, not biological Still family Makes me hurt Until this day Memories of all the things you did Karate Hurricane football Baseball cheers Getting into college Disappeared all my fears A good kid Bad surroundings Life gets the best of us You tried & tried I wish I would of pushed A little harder Days I cry Nights I try, To piece things together To figure out Where we all went wrong I just keep the great memory of December 24th Chatting with your dad You yelled on the other side of the phone Tell Sky "I miss her, and I'll be down to visit soon" The last words you said The last words I heard Replay in my head It gets harder every day But to love you and miss you Is simple in every way!!! It may take awhile for the sting to go away, but the memories will last a lifetime. Very honest and sincere write. Grief is the hardest thing we have to deal with as humans in my opinion. It causes more suffering than any disease one can think of, although Alzheimer's is a close second. I am sorry for your loss, Skylisha.
