Riffing

Religions try
People cry
Fear abounds

A wife wails in the night
Trying to pick up the fragments of her life
Like so many pieces of glass embedded in carpet

Men preach
People listen
Hoping to find a magic solution
To the problems of life

Only to realize that dreams
Will only happen if they have
Open minds
Clear eyes
Pure hearts
