Rhythm of a River

Smooth flows rivers perform as nature intended. Even when storms send it to churn, its God bequeathed responses are right on. Not so, emotions in my heart, ripping me from faith's base. I long for cued smooth flows.

How serene it is to see and hear a river flowing softly by, whilst we might be ready to explode on the inside and how well you contrast and create this poem. KUDOS my friend. Jennifer.

This is so beautifully felt, CayCay. I love how you contrasted the river’s steady rhythm with the unpredictable churn of emotion — such a powerful image. That longing for “cued / smooth flows” is so relatable. Poised and poignant, just like your pen always is.

This one is superb. Did you say you you didn't get it submitted in time. How tragic if that's true. For me it's too notch.

Dear CayCay, your poem is a beautiful reflection on the contrast between the natural world and our inner turmoil. The image of the river flowing smoothly, even in the midst of storms, is a powerful metaphor for the calm and resilience we often strive for. Your words capture the longing for emotional balance and peace, and the phrase 'cued smooth flows' is especially poignant. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt and relatable poem. Beautiful just beautiful wow Love, Anne

I thank you, I do and believe me I try to infuse God into every second of my life. I did not make it into the contest, it closed on me, but I birthed a Rictameter and I can't say that every day! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Thank you, Bill. There were 34 in the contest when I became inspired, but I didn't scribble fast enough to make it into the mix. That's okay, that's alright, I took a chance ... CayCay
