- Rhymes Are Gone -

I feel you ,Anne :) it's a struggle for me who has a different language. English rhymes is a big challenge forever...what matters most is we put our heart in every poem that we create. Loves _ Aiyah :O)

Regardless of how good you may think they are or they are not, I never grow tired of reading your poems. So, my dear, just keep writing for your readers like me and soon you will be amazed at how good a poet you are.

HI ANNE LISE, YOU JUST KEEP WRITING YOU ARE DOING GOOD,I DO NOT KNOW HOW GOOD YOUR ENGLISH IS BUT HERES A LITTLE TRICK I DO,I WRITE MY FIRST LINE, THEN I TAKE THE LAST WORD AND RHYME IT BY GOING THROUGH THE ALPHABET= EXAMPLE- SAY THE WORD IS -HEART - ART BART CART DART AND SO ON TLL I FIND THE WORD I NEED. yet you can write in English, think in it may be hard, another language have me iab in jinglish, yes babe it's so unfair....

I am sure that is true in any translation from one language othe other,,a poem does not have to rhyme,,although that is my favorite kind,,it only needs to say something with feeling and emotions and or tell something by showing it with words,,,a wonderful poem my friend and Thank You for reading and leaving your words behind,,,Blessings..Cecil

This must be a difficult position to be in. Truthfully, good poetry does not require rhyme though and oft benefits from the lack of it. This for example is excellent because of the emotion behind it, frustration, a bit of melancholy is all evident. I attempted a poem or two in Latin and I can somewhat sympathize with the difficulty of trying to get rhymes to work in a language other than your native. Good stuff though, thanks for reading my poems as well!

Awesome, shows the differences in languages and how it can interpret the way the poem flows. Plus free verse and lyrics are so much more fun hehe.

I love this piece. I have the same experience at times. I have to ransack my brain for the forms of poetry. My forte is free verses Anne Lise but I am agonizingly self-educating myself. Do you live in Norway? I usually don't rhyme and I am a native English speaker. Most modern poets avoid rhyme these days. Yours Matthew Anish

Oh, I should say your 'The Rhymes Are Gone' is very well written. For me it was wonderful to hear that someone else out there has trepidation and or is writing even though there is some doubt as to how their piece will be received. In other words; your words poetic encourage me, okay... clay (:D))
