Revived

Gently winding down
and away from the old home
leading to the lake,
The path of trampled grass and
packed earth. An old friend

Shadows formed by the
limbs of trees that line my path
block the starlit sky.
Once I clear the path, the sky
opens it's vastness to me.

An infinity
of stars greets my tired eyes.
A sliver of moon
reflects to dance upon the
restful surface of the lake.

Water gently laps
at the shore line. Wetting the
pebbles over and
over. Alowing them to
shine under the pale moonlight.

The soft rhythm, a
soothing balm to my troubled
mind. drawing out the
poisons that stain my very
thoughts. Tainting my being.

Breathing in the night.
I fill my senses with all
that nature offers.
A feast of smells to fill my
lungs. They work to revive me.

Slowly the pall lifts.
I can feel the energy
that comes from nature.
One last breath, one last look
at the lake. I turn for home.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
