Reverse Polarity

My mind is electric and my heart hums I am backwards but I like it because you always love me more when I am something broken for you to fix I take apart my bones so you can slot them back together and pat yourself on the back I am never quite the same after you leave your bloody fingerprints upon my organs I am suspended and you think I’m falling but I’m flying but you want to catch me so I let myself go I sacrifice everything for you so you can feel like I need you (I don’t need you, I just want you.) Together we are a beautiful nothing I fly toward the sun with you so we can fall together and you can breathe air back into my deflated lungs You anchor me and I pretend as though I don’t want to fly away I wait for us to dissolve together, I pretend to be nonpolar so we are miscible Dig your nails into my skin, hold my DNA beneath your keratin claws Leave everyone behind and keep me forever
