Notes About The Poem

Revenge - To What End

Nonchalant eye curt, births feeling of hurt,
belied expectation the causation
of hearts contraction, as ego thoughts spurt.
We did choose to nurture expectation;
now unable to deal with rejection,
we self-impose suffering day and night.
Even revenge will not set matters right,
for as said, if we take an eye for eye,
the entire world will be, soon without sight.
As clear truth dawns, our heart in relief, sighs.

So profound, yes if we all take an eye for an eye that will leave us all blind to see the truth, and revenge does not heal~
