Return of the Invaders

The spotted lantern fly is back, With wings of spots on red and black, Arriving not with praise or pomp, But calls to, if you see one, stomp! They first appeared a year ago And are invasive, so you know, Destroying all the other plants They meet, in every circumstance. I haven’t seen one yet, but I Am quite prepared to help them die, My trusty soles all set to crush These bugs and turn them into mush.

"I am quite prepared to help them die," - this made me snicker a bit.

Sounds like you love to turn out the lights, Ilene.

Oh, Ilene. I had a good giggle at this. I sit at the dinner table with one of those electric tennis bat fly swats on my lap. Trouble is, the humble house fly is so nimble that dinner time in my house is like the Wimbledon Men’s final. I’m sure when I ‘ignite’ one, my neighbours must think I’ve just scored a goal.

Hi Jeff. Nice to see your face around here… or have I had my eyes shut?
