Retired Frame

My joints have all but broken, As I struggle to hold my delicate posture. These old bones groan to the touch. I can no longer support life, Like I abundantly once could. As time passes, I grow lonelier, For no one pays me any attention anymore. The once so frequent visits have ceased. At times, I feel unwanted and unworthy, In keeping a fire lit, if I were cast into the flames. These hollow bones sometimes remember, The days when I used to be strong. I used to relive and be stuck on such memories, But most of those memories have long faded away. I spend most of my time in solitude, Tossed into the corners of life. My varnish has wrinkled, Arthritis has totally taken over. As I painfully splinter, understanding, I am in the image of my carpenter. And with faith...to one day meet again. _______________________________________ For Matt Caliri's contest " Speak chair! Speak! "

Raul, this is why you are an artist ... you create and create and create ... love the personification, and wish you all the best.
