Retired Astronaut's Memory

"I have been a stranger in a strange land." Bible, Exodus 2:22 I travelled far across that world and saw the strangest sights. The buildings unlike ones I'd seen before. The towers spiralled to the sky, the tunnels underground were vast, so deep beneath the planet's crust. The sky was green, the planet's many moons like ships upon a stormy sea. Dear Jack, your awesome poetic pen brought me into a world of wonder. Beautiful, dynamic imagery and metaphor wrapped in gorgeous rhythm and wonderful (not jarring) use of enjambment made for a silky smooth ride through this creative piece. Your immense poetic talent shines, as always :) Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan

This is a poem of true yearning for adventure. Being an astronaut must be wonderful. Where else can you get the government to spend millions of dollars to give a person a fabulous vacation?.
