You have composed an imposing tanka, Sarah. A colourful scenic snapshot and seasonal appropriate language completes this work. Your report on my Mother Earth Etc was such a kind one. Howard

Thank you, Howard. This was when my husband brought some cucumbers out of his garden for us even though it was really too late to be getting cucumbers from the garden. He did not know in a couple of months he would get the diagnoses of throat cancer and in two weeks be dead. Sara K

Yes, my husband brought in some cucumbers from the garden one day last week. They did not look as good as late spring ones, but they looked edible. It gets so hot here it is hard to have certain vegetables in the late summer. Thank you for dropping by. Sara K

- Always a joy with fruit and vegetables from your own garden, Sara - I can do without the nasty flies :))) - hugs

Those insects are a nuisance for sure. Thank you for your visit and taking time to give the huge smile. Sara K

Well, not in the sense of gathering in crops for winter storage. Just some late things from the garden. It has been so dry here about a month now unless there is water available to water the plantings it would be hopeless. Thanks for dropping by. Sara K

Thank you, Yann. It has been so dry here, but we got rain today, thank God for the rain. My husband has done some watering to keep plants alive. Now we are getting some late vegetables. Sara K
