Rest Within

Exhausted, I fell
into the orbit of you
Lonely voyage ... drifting
Spent all my fuel
searching in the wrong quadrant
for the perfect star
A trail of cosmic dream debris
led me to where you are
But I would’ve flew right on by
and missed you,
had I not emptied my heart
I had no more spirit energy,
I used it all up
looking for the wrong star
My heart was just drifting,
when I fell into the orbit of you
Simply drifting alone, baby
Until you pulled me close to you
Your love gravity
pulled me in so deep
Deep into you, baby ...
deeper and deeper
I would’ve flew right on by
and missed you,
if my empty heart hadn’t stalled
You shone invisible ...
shining right in front of me,
but I didn’t see
You burned invisible ...
but your love I couldn’t see
Until the force of your love grabbed hold of me,
spinning me, spinning me
Your attraction wouldn’t let go of me,
it was changing me, changing me ...
into you, I felt you merging me
Your love gravity
pulled me into your heart deep
Your star shone invisible ...
shining right in front of me,
but I didn’t see
Your star burned invisible ...
so glad I fell into your soul healing heat
You whispered this glowingly:
my love,
come rest within the orbit of me

Sometimes true love happens when you least expect it Freddie... Such a stellar, romantic poem with vivid imagery. 'Into the orbit of you' - is a beautiful expression of being drawn in and I love that it's repeated, and also your phrase 'Your love gravity' - is deeply evocative. Strong and lush lines of love and poetic bliss. Hugs and love my friend!
