Respect For The Shoe
The things I have to put up with because of you humans
How would you like it if you didn't get cleaned, every day I would be fuming
Do you think I get a day off, think again I must put my foot down
I must remind you of all the stuff I have the pleasure of stepping on when I stroll the town
When I get soaking wet could you please put me somewhere to dry
Next time you kick something on the street, think of my pain, I want to cry
It would be nice if you would shine me up when I start to get dull
Especially if I have become the target of a seagull
When I become old and tired I know you will dispose of me
Please show me some respect and allow me to retire with dignity
Speaking as a representative of my fellow shoes
Life would get a lot tougher if we got up and walked away, then what would you do
