Resolution

Emerald queen of brigh silver springs,
Native shore of my native heart
While I in exile yearn your breast apart
Mother Jamaica, they say
The golden time coincides
With all the sparkle that set alight
The candor of diamond in the eyes
But I am not conflicted
I cannot claim that colonial cloak again
That false mother's milk made me almost
A better man inside
By my early learning to spit straight
At things that fondled me with hate
Would you rescind your bitterness of pride?
Would you trade
The coming purpose for this charade?
