Resilience
tootsie roll of a sunflower
wind and rain drove down
its l e m o n y petals
baby’s breath s i g h s
verdant blades of grass
with c o u r a g e guard
the flowers f e l i c i t y
peach and orange pelt
as goldenrod’s weave
their way through the assault,
like winsome fairies, u n a f r a i d
