Resilience

After nine plus years with the Times of India, I lost my job at the newspaper office on April 30, This was due to the pandemic. All these years, I never bothered to look for a job, Then began my journey of searching a secured life, My elderly parents were rock-solid support, I had this guilty feeling of living on my father’s income. I had been independent and been earning since college, It had been almost 21 years of work life, Being single my work was always my identity. And during the Corona pandemic, losing my job was like losing my identity, It was a huge challenge to keep my sanity. Every rejection brought me closer to death. And then I saw my old parents, I could not let them down. Then I thought, You could deny me a job, But you cannot stop me from dreaming, Unfortunately, I did not achieve your passing score, “Please do not be discouraged. We will keep you in mind for any other suitable opportunities that may arise in the future.” You won’t decide my future. I will decide it. It’s my life. You often have to make difficult choices between many high-calibre candidates. No need for you to assess my expertise. Just because it didn’t work out this time, that doesn’t mean it’s the end of my dreams. “Though your past experience and skills are impressive, unfortunately we have to inform you that this time, we won't be able to invite you.” Oh, yes. I know this. An embodiment of resilience, “Never quit, you are a fighter,” said my brother. I love my brother for encouraging me always, Throughout all ups and downs in life, Stay on. Fight on. Don’t let your dreams die.

It has always been easier to search for love than to search for a job! So much rejection! But look at the opportunities! What else can you do? Even the Times of India can use a useful article about unemployment . . . . ..
