Rescue Dog

Back corner
Of a cage
Skinny
Sad
Cold
Shivering
Vulnerable
Defeated look
Their eyes locked
They made a connection
Visiting him daily for a week
Before taking him home
Never again either to be lonely

I know he will not stay defeated and sad for long, now! Our dog was a rescue and she really blossomed with love and a secure home. Touching poem, Line! ;)

When we lost our first dog it made the house very empty and my wife and daughter went for a look around the dogs home and to take some bits that they might find useful, you can guess what happened next lol We had him for about 13 years. Tom
