As I lie next to my loved ones as they fall asleep before I do and within a few minutes they let out a faint snore. I embrace the sound because the silence scares me I'm afraid something is wrong. As they snore I know there alive and well and it brings me peace knowing that they are healthy! That's just me other people might think I'm weird Wich is true I am a little paranoid/ weird! I really enjoyed your poem

I get that. Nothing like hearing the sound of your own children snore and know that they feel safe and resting well. Sometimes I hear my dog snoring really loud. After several years of being w/someone you love, it’s easy to covet their rest while you lie there next to them in the midst of insomnia. I get a little jealous. He does too when it happens to him. It’s like we take turns in our weeks of insomnia. Oddly enough, I miss hearing my Daddy snoring when I was a child. I wish he was still alive to keep us all awake. Silly the things you miss about people. Sometimes sleeplessness feels like a punishment. No rest. Thank you for your kindness. ;)

I don’t wrestle with the flesh. I would rather the waves and to feel less alone in the dark during those hours. ijs ;)

Someone is trying to get your attention at 4 a.m. All you have to do is ask "who?" the next time. You will automatically know, and you will be right. Your soul always knows. It is the curse of the sensitives.
