Remembrance day

Today I honour you
Your blues eyes and
What you’ve been through

I can’t even imagine
What you saw over there
Sometimes I get a glimpse
In a vacant stare

You tell me those are your memories
And you wouldn’t change a thing
You don’t regret your tours
Or much of anything

I’m glad you’re with me today
Meeting you inspired
Me in several different ways

Thank you for what you’ve done
Giving me purpose and freedom

I can’t wait to hold you
And be by your side
Because of you I feel pride

You’re a brave man
That’s all I’ll say
And you make it easy
For me to convey
