Remembering the Death of Jfk

Few now remember the horror of November 22nd The year was 1963, and it seems a long time ago, But by American history and memories reckoned The death of the president far eclipsed Mar-a-Lago. On that day President John F. Kennedy was killed, Shot to death in old Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, It was said accomplished by a man not-so-skilled, And the inquiries and investigations were endless. For years news media commemorated the event But, nowadays, scarcely a mention will be made Seems how the passing of history to oblivion is sent The world mourned when in Arlington JFK was laid.

I've always wondered what living through that horrible tragedy was truly like. This was 13 years before I was born! Until now I heard stories from my parents, especially from my late father. I really appreciate your eye-opening perspective, Milt:-)

Thanks so much, Edward. Like many others, I have been to Dealey Plaza, trying to experience something of what happened that day!

I remember like it was yesterday, being dismissed from class and walking home somberly to an empty house. Milt, you brought me right back, mood and all. Enjoyed

i had the same thought, milton - that so many people will not realize the significance of this date. those of us who were old enough will remember exactly where we were when we heard the news...

Indeed, we will. Anyone who was alive that day will remember or, if very young, will remember wondering why their parents were so upset.

It is, indeed, Tom. The death of JFK was the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the date this morning.

I was four and didn't understand why my mom was watching t.v. and crying. Of course there was the assassination of Medgar Evans before JFK, then the Freedom Riders, Malcom X, MLK, RFK, and finally, Fred Hampton to close the decade. What visionary leader did not get assassinated during the 60's? Anyway, I am glad to be reminded what day it is Milton, thanks.
