Remembered Love

She haunts my every waking dream, I see Her pure sky eyes each time I close my own And still each day I see her stand before me, Not mortal flesh but in my mind alone. Now with each breath I breathe a little less, Oh love, my seared soul still cries for you Not just for days we shared I must confess, Though days they were that bore a love so true. Remembered love is not forgotten love, Unless we let it fade as years pass on. Look heavenward for the lone mourning dove, Once seen you’ll know my heart is not withdrawn. Velvet lips who’s kiss melt me like ice Evermore I’ll kiss once met in Paradise.

I must tell you there have been so many diverse poems shared here at PoetrySoup yesterday and this morning that I am just now being able to read. Each one is a treasure to the poet who wrote it. It is a pleasure to me to be able to read them. I am so happy yours was among the ones I have read today Simon. Love, Carol
