religion

Lord, I haven’t been to mass,
But I drove in the countryside,
Listening to four cantatas,
From the absolute master, J.S Bach,
Do you forgive me, Lord?

Suddenly, the sky lit up,
As if you were thinking of me,
Dear Lucille, consoled me,

Lord, I haven’t been to mass,
but I am as good as a wafer,
I’m not hurting anyone,
But I drove in the countryside,
By listening to four cantatas.

NB These are the magnificent cantatas BMV 4, 158, 131 and 70.

Yann, this so heartfelt, I just wanted to make a change proposal if you like: I think it will add, rhyme and rhythm to the poem: Lord, I have not been to Mass today, But drove through fields beneath the open sky, Listening to four cantatas on my way— Bach’s sacred genius soaring high. Would You forgive me, Lord, for passing by? Let me know what you think.

I rarely have time to comment these days Yann. I read and enjoy your poems so much. This one touched me so much and I thought about it so much I had to make time to come back and let you know how much it touched me.

- Spiritual calm and presence outdoors in nature - probably works as well as a traditional church room, Yann :) - hugs

Attending church is a wonderful way to feel closer to God, and this is also true of nature, God's beautiful creation. Your poem is lovely, Yann.😀

Sometimes when a person works and has to do things to keep going in their life, a day just relaxing brings them into a closer relationship with God. It is always good to worship in a church and have the support of Christian friends. Thank you for sharing this one with us. Way to go. 👏✍️. Sara K.

Very nice! We listened to our church service with it's wonderful praise music and then the sermon as we were driving too. You can praise God with Bach 😀

Attending Mass is not everything. Being good is more important than all performing rituals. You will be forgiven, dear Yaan.
