Religion

Religion rears its ugly head
Just when you think it's finally dead.
"The blood of Christ is not enough,
You have to do this other stuff.

"Your hair is just a bit too long
And the way you comb it is all wrong.
Look at your jeans--they fit too tight!
You oughta know that this ain't right!

"That show you watched is full of sin.
How does that let Jesus in?"
Hold that thought! Stop right there!
My salvation is not my hair.

How I dress does not decide
If I have been sanctified.
I might still sin, and that's okay
Cause Jesus washed that sin away.

When He died on Calvary
He saved my soul and set me free.
So take your lies and go away;
I'm free in Jesus Christ today.

Religion is the devil's tool--
It turns our Lord into a fool;
It undermines His Holy Grace
A slap right to my Saviour's face.
