Relaxing Rain

Candy corn rays of sunlight melt through the glass, where frosty ice-coated rills amass. Finger placed against the pane leaves a misty stain, when cold day's rain gently plays through emotion's strain, but glad as my feelings drain. I pour myself a glass of wine as candy corn rays of sunlight melt through the glass.

I agree Jan. My original poem was supposed to be about a lazy day in bed but my problems with matching the rhyme and syllable count completely reformed it. Thanks for the nice comment, and luck to you.

Very well done, I like how you described the colors of sunlight. Good luck in the contest, James ... CayCay

That's sweet, but you are probably being overly critical of your own work. I did enjoy all the imagery very much. You poetically captured a moment ... CayCay

Thanks CayCay, after rereading it now, it doesn't flow very well. I prefer yours.
