Regrets
A time of sadness and despair
As memories linger in my mind
Those days of laughter come back again
Sounds familiar to my ears
As I sit, in silence, in the dark
Spoken words hanging on too long
I cannot walk away, and lose their mark
My skin aging with the years,
Yet memories remain ever so faint
In the lines, as they cross my hands
Those that touched your very face
Regrets of wanting those moments back
Shame of wanting you to be.
