Regret

Don't take my happiness away
just when things are going my way,
Don't crush my spirit into the ground.

I'm really not happy when I'm with you,
you do your best to make me feel blue,
and are never pleased with what I do.

no laughter, love, cuddle or kiss,
can I stand much more of this!,
a loving look would be a treat.

you loved me once a long time ago,
least I thought you did - now I'm not sure,
I'm never on a pedestal, but bottom of the heap.
