Regimented Line

They came together as a parade
In single line a formation
Regimented, and so they stayed
With reclined heads
And glimmering helmets
Their eyes cast upon the ground
At the funeral of the road
Their hope and courage
Shone in the face of adversity
As the first glimmer of dawn
Crept up between the teeth of the city
And even if their faces were cast down
Where they looked, without a frown
All could see
All were guided
To the point of perspective
On car roofs reflective
