Reflections on the Past, Visions of the Future

"It wasn't always like this, of course. Money didn't always exist. Previously, people labored to eat. However, they WORKED for joy." The concept of happiness was absent. When money was introduced, The Pursuit of Happiness was too, In which case people labored for money. However, humanity was warned; "The love of money is the root of all evil." Why would that be so? Because happiness distracts us from joyful living. In other words, money, Or the pursuit of happiness, Distracts mankind from our true purpose in life, "To care for life, in a kind, thoughtful, and compassionate way." When we do, joy is our reward, Which is far greater than happiness, Happiness is fleeting, joy is forever, Joy gives our lives meaning, and purpose to eternity. Happiness is like getting a gift, Joy is like giving a gift, Happiness is often a lonely pursuit, Joy is necessarily a people-shared outcome. Happiness is the by-product of our success. Joy is the fulfillment of our success, Happiness, as a by-product only, finds us. Joy is created by us when we love others. In the World of Tomorrow, money doesn't exist, So people labor to eat, and work for joy, Thus, the poor are blessed, and the rest are joyful, Who understand their true purpose in life. And everybody has everything they need, Along with the opportunity to exercise, Their talents to the fullest, And most of all, love reigns supreme. And all this is possible because our children, Are taught in homes and schools, And led by example, To love and care about all living things.

Hello Bryan, Congrats on getting HM in my poetry contest. Your poem cuts through the noise with that sharp truth about how money’s chase can eclipse joy’s pulse. I see the warning in your lines, the way you carve out space for what actually lasts with hands building bridges, not banks. Your words are blueprints for a world where we labor to feed souls, not systems. The joy you seek? It’s already in the work. Spring Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
