Reflections in Ice

On an icy Sunday,
threatening weather,
uncertainty is everywhere
how will I get to work tomorrow?
what if we lose power?
How will we stay warm without a source of heat?

But through all the uncertainty,
I know that this life will always be uncertain
but I don't have to be,
I have faith in the one who is sovereign
and he is with me every moment of every day
when it is my time, I will go be with him and see
my beautiful son again, but until then
he holds me through all the uncertainty
and guides my path through all the literal
and figurative storms
