Reflections

Reflections Would that tears would flow like Niagara; To empty the soul’s long sorrow and then, The split sides of a laughing love table Would return serenity to this heart. But Niagara today is dry, longing For Love’s remembering young happiness; The joy that died while trying to hold on; And like the lovely Monarch, flew away. Time has passed like a down-mountain river, Duties done, duties forgotten, confused; Now I see the setting of winter’s sun; And the need for forgiving one and all. I pray there is a light burning bright, Deep, awaiting just the right match to light.

The heartbreak is palpable in your beautifully expressed sonnet Sunlite. Your sad imagery of heartache is lovely and stirring. This too shall pass like - 'a down-mountain river' - love your words!
