Reflections
Reflections
Would that tears would flow like Niagara;
To empty the soul’s long sorrow and then,
The split sides of a laughing love table
Would return serenity to this heart.
But Niagara today is dry, longing
For Love’s remembering young happiness;
The joy that died while trying to hold on;
And like the lovely Monarch, flew away.
Time has passed like a down-mountain river,
Duties done, duties forgotten, confused;
Now I see the setting of winter’s sun;
And the need for forgiving one and all.
I pray there is a light burning bright,
Deep, awaiting just the right match to light.
