Redonculus Demands
REDONCULOUS DEMANDS
"Don't be Shellfish," said the Crab,
"Nor pay me Sand in Dollars!
ArgoNaut and don't debate,
to get your way, or holler."
When I call, then you must come,
just in case it's Urchin.
Conch you buy me Sandcastles,
and pay it to the Merchant?
"You better Kelp me," said the Oyster,
"I'm trying to Shoot this Curl!
If it knocks me off my Wave,
you know I'll heave my Pearl."
When I'm Starfish for some food,
then feed me jumbo Shrimp.
And please do not get Undertow,
it causes me to limp.
Don't you Seal me in a cave,
nor Tide my Pools in knots.
Keep me Sound, my Salty Sailor,
and float me in your Yacht.
Driftwood you play a tune forlorn,
and harmonize in Coral?
Play the Sandpiper, and French Foghorn,
from sundown to the morrow.
