Redemption

Wrecked, dethroned, and felt betrayed That's how much pain I've got; I'd rather be slain. I was locked in a room filled with misery and distrust Sorrow was my strongest ally; the rest was a disgust Fantasy was my temporary escape - There I breathe But I could not ask for more if my hands can finally seethe. My convoluted mind digresses from what was real. Like incarceration, I felt that I was confined for a thousand years So I prayed on my knees with fervor and hope I knew that I had a chance to find a way to go out: I loped. I felt the touch of the sun on my pale skin for the first time "So this is what life appears like when it's daytime!" As colors started to unfurl the ragged clothing on me I felt revived, crowned, and alive!- "This is the old me!" It felt good to be myself again, it felt good to be happy once more I knew I deserved that redemption moment; I will live forevermore
