Red Moon
Amidst the chaotic colors,
sounds of fireworks echo through the chambers of my ears.
Heart racing in sync with my nerves.
Hypnotized by the soft aroma in the air,
unfamiliar with my hands and legs.
The side profile of grace and beauty.
Pitch black hair lined up in perfect symmetry.
Skin teasing me with a gravitational pull.
A pair of empty hands aching for my own.
A choker containing her composure and elegance.
The blood red moon signaling her cue.
As she looks towards my weakened eyes,
my defenses are lowered, vulnerable, exposed.
Swift steps towards my vacant vessel,
arms wrap around my neck, a snake contorting.
Unable to predict her next move,
I fall victim to softly parted lips.
A moment trapped in time,
An image burned into my brain.
A desire for this feeling of peace,
her warmth infiltrating my bloodstream.
With the life being drained from my soul,
I wrap my arms around in acceptance.
Accepting that I am in love.
