Red Hot Tar

Grandma told it well.
Some missionaries
Visited her dad –
He was one deacon.
Everyone listened.

He let them teach.
All about God
And the iron rod
Deacons complained

Threatened him
Their mob came
Red -hot tar --

Kids learned
Dad’s strength

Stands!

One Outrageous Story!
I remember Grandma telling me
about her dad, my great-grandfather.
back in the early 1900s
