Red Fox
Stealthy in the moonlight,
rough red fur
Down on all fours,
belly brushing the ground
Ears designed to hear every movement
Chickens quietly resting,
clucking softly, dreaming
Sounds of sleep fills the air
Steadily moving forward,
Under the fence she slides
A swift attack is needed
Or dinner will be lost
The aroma of feathers tickle her nose
she leaps, pounces, feathers fly,
racket fills the air, jaws clamp down,
A savage shake, dinner is ready.
