Anne-Lise, I would think it is probably still frozen up the north area where you live. Will you have them when spring finally arrives? Thanks for the nice review. Sara K

Dear Sara, Your Haiku reminds me of a Cardinal that I called Carl who every day for two years came and pecked at one of my windows. He did that for 2 years and then we never saw him again. Loved reading your words for they brought me memories of Carl. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Daniel, I liked to learn about your Cardinal, Carl, who visited for two years. There are several pairs of them that live around here, so I have discovered since I have been putting out food that has special things in it for Cardinals. I have enjoyed the color, but I also have house finches whose males have a lot of red on them. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Thank you, Victor. I like to use the term running rose because of the alliteration and also at one time I had the most beautiful one that was pale pink, and it would burst forth with blooms for a time in early spring, but alas, it passed. Sara K

I've missed reading you. Can't remember if I've visited you since my return. Seems every day I think of someone else I use to read but haven't gone to their pages yet. Your haiku is beautiful, I love the kicker line. Lived in Virginia long enough to have been blessed with many male cardinal sightings. BLESS YOU ... CayCay

Thank you, CayCay, for remembering me and dropping by once again to read my poems. I am delighted that you can enjoy the beauty of cardinals where you live. I have a large number of house finches as well who are enjoying the seed from my feeders. Sara K

Andrea, it wasn't a cardinal that I saw it was a rose slightly open, but the rose is really a shade of dark pink but looks red at that stage then the next day there was 3 then maybe 5 and now it is loaded. I have enjoyed so many birds this late winter and early spring. So much interest outside my kitchen window. Sara K
