Red

"I will never know how you see red and you will never know how I see it." ~ Anne Carson, 'Autobiography Of Red'

Red are my cheeks when you compliment me.
Red is the bacteria in the southern Red Sea.

Red is the blood that has been shed for freedom.
Red is the cover of Dutch yellow cheese, edam.

Red, too, the lips after lingering, hungry kisses.
Red marks the sector of bullseye misses.

Red is the power of a celebrity's walk.
Red, the color of love's angry talk.

Red is love, hate, romance, and rage.
Red is the ink that edits my page.

Red is sexuality and esteem.
Red Stars is a women's hockey team.

Red is the blood of Christ and the fires of Hell.
Red is the sound of the persistent death knell.

I really love al the descriptions of red here especially “ Red is the ink that edits my page.” And “ Red is sexuality and esteem.“ pleasure reading this gem! Congratulations on your win

I appreciate your thoughtful comments Inky. Red is one of my favorites, too, and I considered red hair at one point. ;) LOL My hair is long and I thought about doing only the bottom 6 inches, so when I brained it would be red on the bottom. Thanks for your congrats! :)

Dearest Linda, I love how you explore the multifaceted nature of the color with depth and creativity. Through vivid examples ranging from blushing cheeks to the symbolism of bloodshed for freedom, you capture the diverse associations and emotions tied to the color red. Linda, this evocative exploration of red in all its dimensions. - Blessings, Daniel
