Recuperation

I know longer think of your eyes
When I see the ocean
Or your hair when I see the sun
The wounds are finally healing
Though the scars will never be gone.

No longer will I carelessly toss
My heart out into the wind
Now I’ll be slow in giving
Before I love again.
