Written: August 28, 2023 ______________________________________________________________ Age is just numbers Young at heart, we remember~ Time weight we concede Youth's boastful refrain "Age is just a number" coined~ Wisdom whispers truth Age's meek grip steals Mundane tasks slip through our grasp~ Yet we strive to thrive Fading strength and grace Each day's burden we embrace~ Crave fuels our chase. Time's grip on our days Mundane tasks slip through worn hands~ Desire fuels us

I feel the same About age, that despite time fleeting etc , i feel like age is just a number: what a brilliant and profound haiku this is. I love the way this flows and how you’ve written this is just shows wisdom and experience. And ofcourse your rhymes in haiku, is also captivating and very beautiful. I couldnt help but quote. “ wisdom whispers truth” absolutely! Agreed. Love this.

An encouraging poem my friend. I must be the flip side of the coin, cause I don't always embrace each day's burdens ! I moan and groan and with some levity recite that well known phrase WHY ME ! (only while no one is in earshot- and I respectfully ask God to shut His ears for a moment or two.) I will read your poem with breakfast each day to entice me to be old more gracefully, I promise.
