They can be the first spark spark of colour in an otherwise dreary Spring, those little wet the beds as they are also known. It's there's a crack, they will find it. Congratulations on your first haiku win Maureen.

I think the plight of the bees is bending our attitudes in their favour, usually the first food available to our most precious pollinators. Had not heard of "wet the beds", I love it :) Thank you so much Jean! xomo

This is a lovely haiku, Maureen. This is exactly what traditional haiku judges value - nonjudgmental statements that stir the reader's subconscious value system. Well done.
