Rebel Inside Me
They do not see
The rebel tucked deep inside me
Oh yes
A rebel
They may soon see
Conveniently hidden away
Behind a subtly charmed smile
A charismatic voice of an angel
And eyes as sweet
Yet fierce as the deep blue sea
They do not see
The rebel tucked deep inside me
But they will
In due time
As the minute clock rushes forward
Revealing its hand
Of everything for which it stands
But yet I stand
Confident and radiant
Ready to defend this land
Pause
Deep breath
Even in trenches
Dug deep into this sand
They do not see
The rebel tucked deep inside me
Tucked cleverly away
Behind soft spoken words of wisdom
From a mind of poetry
Romantic and true to its kind
And a kindness
Pure with love in my heart
But yes
A rebel
They do not see inside me
