Reasons Unending

Your shoulder's there to lean on
When the troubles come by twos
And your happy sense of humor
Can soon chase away my blues.
Proud fan of my small triumphs,
Fierce protector when I fail,
You sometimes walk a bit ahead
To give me an easy trail.

Because I've never had to doubt you
Nor to fear you've been untrue
And because you seem to need me
Just as much as I need you
Are some reasons I adore you
And am happy you are mine
And am sending this reminder
That you are my Valentine.

Joyce, my husband passed away too. There Once Again was written for him. Thank you for sharing your story with me. Looks like we share something in common. Much love to a sweet lady, Carolyn

Beautiful sentiments, Joyce. You and your husband are both lucky to share this type of love. I'm sure this will be among the winners in Matt's contest. Having someone who "walks a bit ahead to give (you) an easy trail" is having true love. Remarkable writing that touches the heart with joy and hope! Love, Carolyn
