Sorry, but ... I just don't understand at all, Why people want to rush the fall? Winter's coming, cold and rough, And fall will be here ... soon enough. The frozen dark is such a bummer, Please - no early end to Summer ... I, too, love Autumn, treat-or-trick, But slow it down ... life goes too quick! ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Contest 485 Any Theme Or None" Poetry Contest, Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor.

Your ‘cool’ contrarian sentiment is refreshingly appealing. The seasons of life move on fast enough without any encouragement. Nice one, Gregory.

Thanks so much, Geoffrey ... it will ALWAYS come, and soon enough, I think - why rush it? Blessings, my friend! :-)

I wholeheartedly agree. Autumn ushers in the SAD. However, relief from this stinking heat at least gives the fall more than just birds and colours to look forward to ;) Good luck dear! A perfect little poem, it ought to do well. xomo <:

Thank you very much, Mo, I so appreciate it! I love Autumn, but it comes too soon ... one of these days I'm heading south, (South Pacific, I hope) ... permanently! Blessings! :-) <3

Loved this poem. I live in Florida and can't wait for winter and the 70 degree highs again. Summer can go with its 100% humidity at 95 degrees.

Ha! It's all relative, I guess - I lived in Florida once, (and St. Croix), so I know the hot summers well ... I'm much better with hot and AC than the very long, very cold winters here in Maine. Blessings, my friend! :-), (and

I am just now getting around to reading this Gregory. I really enjoyed this bit of commentary. It flows wonderfully. As for me, it has been a long hot summer and I don't do hot gracefully. Bring on the fall colors!
